Be Subject to One Another

God designed marriage to reflect the relationship between Christ and the church. A healthy marriage is not about one person getting their way, but about two people humbly submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives are called to honor and respect their husbands, while husbands are called to sacrificially love their wives as Christ loved the church. When both spouses lay down selfishness and serve one another, they protect their marriage from the enemy's attacks and, much like the Ephesians 3 call for the church, display God's manifold wisdom, and the defeat of the enemy to the world.
