Fitted Together

Ephesians 2 makes a big shift at the end just before jumping off into chapter 3. Where it was decidedly personal, i.e. individual redemption, chosen individually, individually seated, etc. now it pushes corporate, describing the formation of the New Testament church. The church, made up of unified believers assembled together under the headship of Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, is designed to fully represent Father God in the earth and to proclaim the finished work of the cross such that the church is expanded. In doing so, we over and over again proclaim the brilliant strategy and wisdom of God declaring the obvious defeat of powers, principalities, rulers, and authorities.
