Don't Get Bitten

What happens when God tells you, “Don’t pick up the snake,” and you do it anyway?

Does He stop you? Does He punish you? Does He abandon you?

Or does He allow you to experience the consequences of your choices—and then use those consequences to teach you what His voice was trying to tell you all along?

In Luke 15, the father doesn’t chase the prodigal down or force him to come home. He lets him go. He lets the consequences unfold. And then, when the son finally turns around, the father is watching for him.

God doesn’t want you to get bitten. But if you ignore His wisdom and get bitten anyway, He can use the pain to bring you back to Himself.
