King Of The Jews

As Jesus triumphally enters Jerusalem in the week leading up to Passover, people greeted him with palm branches laid out garments in a ceremony declaring him as king, and them as servants of that king. They were looking for, and expecting, a king who would conquer their oppressor and set them up for success, but what they got instead was Jesus, humble and declaring peace while riding in on a donkey to His eventual death. Their expectations of Jesus were deeply misaligned, resulting in a complete and total betrayal just 5 short days after they hailed him as their king. Not only do we see the age old tactics of the enemy, as he even uses scripture to mold the way people think and convince them of an alternative narrative, but we also see Father God executing His manifold wisdom as He presses forward in what will ultimately be a decisive victory over the enemy.
